CHICK MASTER
PARTICIPATES IN THE LA CONGRESS

The XXII Latin American Congress returned
to Buenos Aires, Argentina in early September. The last LA Congress in
Buenos Aires was 25 years ago. Over that period, Argentina has grown
its poultry production several times over as the economy has grown and
chicken has become a common sight at many meals. Argentina is also
exporting chicken all over the world. As a result, our business in
Argentina includes many expansions and new plants that are using our
Avida and Avida S single stage setters with Zephyr hatchers. Many of
the facilities have ventilation systems provided by our Energy
Management group with one new facility in Entrerios installing our
unique heat recovery technology to reduce energy consumption during the
cooler days and evenings.
Prior to the exhibition,
Chick Master held a one day technical incubation seminar that was
attended by over 200 people from around Latin America. The event
included technical presentations by Chick Master experts and several
invited guests. From our different meetings with customers both at the
Chick Master seminar and at the LA Congress, we heard
consistent interest to growth and to seeking greater efficiency at all
levels of hatchery operations. Chick Master was proud to participate
in the Congress together with our well-established group of sales
representatives including Aldo Colman of EXIM International, Argentina;
Georg V. von Arnim of Representaciones Guma, Colombia; Gonzalo Li of
Guillermo Li SAC, Peru, and Euclides Fernandez of Inversiones Femur,
Venezuela.

Gamie Gundran of SMG Wins
Raffle at VIV Asia |
|
At the VIV Asia show in Bangkok, Chick Master held a
raffle for a free Oracle Software package including computer hardware
and two Gemeric controls. The winner was Gamie Gundran from San Miguel
Corporation in the Philippines. Gamie won the package that will be
installed in one of the large hatcheries owned and operated by San
Miguel. The Oracle is an advanced information system that gives hatchery
managers key reports to help improve hatchery performance. When
connected to the Gemeric controls, the hatchery will improve energy
efficiency, chick quality, and hatchability. SMC will see these benefits
when using the Oracle system. So congratulations to Gamie! |

Peco Foods New Modern Hatchery Opens
Peco Foods recently opened its new single stage hatchery in Sebastopol,
Mississippi, USA. For this large facility, Peco Foods selected Chick
Master Avida single stage setters and hatchers. Peco recognized that by
using custom programs and the unique features of the Avida setters, they
would gain greater efficiency both in the hatchery and on the grow-out
farms.
Working closely with the Chick Master installation
and start-up team, Peco had a smooth process from design to production.
“We are very proud that Peco selected Chick Master for this important
and prestigious new facility. It involved many months of planning and a
close cooperative effort between both our companies. It has been a great
relationship for both Peco and Chick Master”, stated Lou Sharp, Vice
President of US Sales for Chick Master.

Cobb-Vantress Upgrades with Chick Master
Recently Cobb-Vantress decided it was time to invest
in upgrading its Wadesboro, North Carolina hatchery. This facility has
Jamesway Big J setters and hatchers with Sentry controls, but they felt
that Chick Master hatchers could offer better performance because of the
unique design of the C192 hatcher. So they contacted our sales team to
see what solutions we could offer. Working closely with our engineers,
Chick Master designed a control upgrade to utilize the Genesis IV
controls on the hatchers. They also like the Chick Master hatcher design
and the efficiency of the fan system in the C192 model hatchers. Our
design team went to work and built an upgrade utilizing the C192 fan
assembly that replaced the original Jamesway fan assembly.
|
 |
After several months of operation, Cobb has seen the
return they expected. In comparison to the original Jamesway hatchers,
both chick quality and the number of sellable breeder chicks have
increased. An improved airflow and better control gave them the benefits
they expected. Congratulations to Cobb and the Chick Master engineering
team! To gain even further improvements, Cobb-Vantress has already
committed to further control upgrades for the setters. Their Jamesway
setters will soon utilize the Genesis IV controls connected to the Chick
Master Galaxy software system. With better and more accurate control,
Cobb will see even great benefits.
If you have Jamesway setters and hatchers of any model, you could
benefit from these same upgrades. Contact your Chick Master sales
representative to see how you can improve your hatch and chick quality. |
